Arrived into Hanoi to be greeted at the airport by our friend Thinh, who we met when he was a graduate student at Colorado State University about 10 years ago. He is now Dr. Thinh and head of the Department of Wildlife at Vietnam Forestry University in Xuan Mai. He very graciously put us up in a nice hotel, took us to meet his family, and arranged a dinner with a few of his University colleagues and former CSU roommates that we also know. The next morning he took us to meet with Dr. Khoa and his family, who we met when he roomed with Thinh at CSU (we seem to know quite a few faculty at Vietnam Forestry University). After a nice breakfast Thinh drove us to Hanoi, found a nice hotel for us in the Old Quarter (Golden Silk Boutique Hotel), and helped us buy a phone. We are very grateful to him for his kindness and for getting us settled in Hanoi.
