March 9th to March 24; Fort Collins, CO

We have been home in our house which feels like a castle since we now have our own bed etc. The weather was very pleasant at 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit but now it is wintery and cold. We have received about 7 inches of heavy snow and another snow storm is on the way. Although it is hard work to remove the snow, it is very good for the spring plants  to have all of this moisture which slowly melts into the ground.

Nothing seems to have changed much here but we are changed in a positive way from our travels. It always surprises me when someone does not know where Cambodia or Laos is on the world map. I have memories come up now and then of a street scene in one of these countries. It is so quiet here compared to most of the towns we have visited in Southeast Asia.  I feel lonely at times without the people on the street, even though I could not understand their language.

Here is Pete after shoveling the snow after the first storm. He also typically shovels some of our friends out too.

We didn’t completely escape winter but I am glad to see it for a short time before spring!
